A popular high school student died in a head-on car crash after her vehicle slid across an icy road.
Hannah Dashiell was driving when her car slid on the slick road, crossed the centre line and collided with a car travelling in the opposite direction.
Her Volkswagen Beetle burst into flames and witnesses were unable to get her out as the ferocious fire prevented them from rescuing her.

Bellingham police say the 17-year-old died at the scene on Barkley Boulevard hill just before 10am, KiroTV reported.

Squalicum High School students paid tribute to the popular teen
A preliminary autopsy said that the honour roll student at Squalicum High School was knocked unconscious in the crash and is believed to have died from the poisonous smoke fumes, KPug1170 reported.
The senior class vice president was driving her car to work when the car skidded into the oncoming lane near Brandywine Way, the Bellingham Herald reported.
The cheerleader, who was a regular volunteer for the Seattle Cancer Society, collided with a Toyota Tacoma coming in the other direction.
Bellingham Police Department said witnesses tried to rescue her from the crumpled car, which immediately caught fire, but the intense flames stopped them, according to News Tribune.
The other driver wasn't hurt in the fatal crash.
The road had been treated the night before the tragic incident, but the road has suffered from icy conditions in the past.
Devastated students and staff were being treated by grief counselors at Squalicum High School.
They paid tribute to the outgoing student by wearing her favourite colour, purple, to the school's boys' basketball team game on Monday night.
