In these early days, Swift was known for her natural curls. Here she is at her first ever CMA Awards with a smokey eye and nude lip.

Taylor won her first CMT award for video of the year with "Tim McGraw." Her beauty look was simple and prom-like with pronounced ringlets.

Swift loved coordinating her eyeshadow to her gowns, like this matching look at her first Grammy Awards in 2008. She was nominated for best new artist.

Swift had her hair in a pretty chignon with lose tendrils when Kanye West interrupted her awards speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

The Grammy Awards in 2010 was one of the first appearances of Swift's now-signature red lip.

After that, Taylor began to play with her beauty look. She straightened her hair and rocked blunt bangs at the 2010 American Music Awards.

Then at the 2012 Grammy Awards, she wore her hair pulled back in a bun.

The straight hair became even more common, and so did that red lip. Here she is at the 2012 VMA's.

Taylor's style became more sweet and so did her makeup. Soft hair, red lips, and pretty eye makeup was her routine.

At the 2013 Brit Awards, she went a bit more daring with a smokey eye peaking out from beneath her bangs.

The curly short hair was definitely here to stay. Here she is at the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Festival.

But on tour, she also started wearing her bob straight with her bangs swept to the side. The red lip was also a common addition.

Contouring was definitely in by the 2015 Grammys.

But Taylor's "1989" tour staple was always the red lip.

And then, all hell broke loose when Taylor went gothic with her platinum blonde hair and outfit for the Met Gala in 2016.

She has since changed her hair back to her normal color, though it is a little blonder. Here she is at the Tommy Hilfiger fashion show in 2016.

Her hair is now a little bit ombre and it appears as though she's letting it grow out. We can't wait for her next beauty transformation.
