The 2023 track and field season concluded on a great note. While Shericka Jackson clinched two Diamond League victories, Pole Vaulting star Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis surpassed his own world record. With this, the track and field stars will now gird up to clinch more accolades next year in the Paris Olympics. While all athletes are currently taking a break and enjoying the off-season, one of the sprinters found himself in legal trouble.
French sprinting prodigy Mouhamadou Fall once again caught in the web of anti-doping agencies after he tested positive for a banned substance. The track star has been under the radar of anti-drug bodies for quite some time. In fact, the Sanctions Commission of the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD) started tailing him after he breached an initial violation in July.
Nation’s beloved sprinter charged with doping allegations
The French Capital, Paris will host the upcoming 2024 Summer Olympics. The European nation is busy preparing for the mega-event of sporting and is surprising the world with their hosting efforts. Several news headlines dominated the news regarding the Paris Olympics, like the introduction of flying taxis in Paris.
In fact, the IOC also landed a deal with Louis Vuitton and the LVMH group for crafting 2024 Olympic medals. Amidst this festive environment, the news of Mouhamadou Fall’s drug usage leaves a bad taste in one’s mouth.
The 200m sprinter tested positive for a banned stimulant called octodrine at the French Elite Championships in July 2023. Fall surrounded by AFLD at the Albi event after his urine sample yielded a trace of octodrine. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has blacklisted the S6 class stimulant found in nasal congestion medicines and food supplements.
Apparently, Fall had also missed his whereabouts obligations thrice in July, but his lawyers allowed him to evade a suspension. However, Fall is now pinned under concrete evidence. More so, back in July, when Fall got surrounded by the conjectures around doping, he asked for a “the greatest leniency.“

Mouhamadou Fall’s expressed his concerns regarding the scrutiny
Back in July 2023, addressing the doping allegations, Fall stated during a rare public sanctions committee hearing that, “My name is associated with something fishy. Following that, I missed my Championships, and my season was super complicated. I lost a lot financially, I am put aside in relay. Knowing that I’m a quote-unquote plague victim is hard.”
“This is why I ask for the greatest leniency in the decision”, pleaded the sprinter, fourth fastest European over 200m in 2023.
Now, as the sprinter once again got surrounded by conjectures around doping, the road to Olympics might seem a bit bumpy for the sprinter.
