It may be all drama on Virgin River, but Benjamin Hollingsworth’s life at home with his wife, Nila Myers, is smooth sailing.
The Canadian actor and former lingerie designer met in 2010 and following a whirlwind two-month engagement, wed in California on Nov. 10, 2012. They have three children, sons Hemingway Nash and Gatsby Willem, born in 2016 and 2018, respectively, and daughter Juniper Bloom, born in 2020.
“She’s amazing. Three kids later, she’s still such a hero,” Hollingsworth told iHeartRadio in 2021. “I’m so lucky to have her."
The couple were based in Los Angeles while Hollingsworth recorded shows like Suits and Code Black, but they moved their family up to Canada in 2020 after the actor landed his starring role as Dan Brady on Virgin River, which is filmed in British Columbia, and the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
“When I first met Ben 10 years ago I never could’ve imagined that our life together would blossom into what it is today,” Myers wrote on Instagram. "We are so blessed to have our 3 beautiful babies and now, in our next chapter, we are building our dream home in a small mountain town in Canada."
The Hallmark star regularly shares sweet tributes to Myers on social media, praising her as a partner and parent and vice versa.
“My fairytale began 7 years ago today,” he wrote on their wedding anniversary in 2019. “I believe in unconditional love and soul mates because I experience it everyday and I’m madly in love with mine.”
So who is Benjamin Hollingsworth’s wife? Here's everything to know about Nila Myers and her relationship with the actor.
She was raised in California
Myers was born on June 30, as evidenced by several birthday celebrations on Instagram over the years.
She attended Agoura High School in Agoura Hills, California, and graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston. Myers continued her studies at Bond University in Australia, where she earned her master's in criminology. She and her sister, Misha Myers Gillingham, were based in Santa Barbara before she met Hollingsworth.
According to California Apparel News, the Myers sisters spent much of their childhood traveling the world, thanks to their mother’s job at Delta Airlines, which offered free tickets.
Hollingsworth and Myers married in 2012
Hollingsworth and Myers met on Dec. 10, 2010. Fast forward to a decade later, Hollingsworth shared a trip of the young couple for the viral Instagram #firstphotochallenge, captioning an Instagram photo from their trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, as “2011 Young, dumb and in love. ❤️.”
The Romance in Style actor got engaged on Sept. 8, 2012, his 28th birthday, according to the Toronto Sun. Two months later, the couple tied the knot in a beach wedding in Malibu, California, on November 10.
Hollingsworth posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that morning, “Today is the day. I woke a boy and will go to sleep a man. I am so lucky to have found the woman I love and I want to grow old with.”
In honor of their wedding anniversary in 2023, the A Splash of Love star shared a series of pictures from their wedding day on Instagram.
“11 years ago was one of the happiest days of my life,” he wrote. "What’s the key to a successful marriage? I have no idea but what has worked for me was marrying the love of my life and loving her just as hard as I did 11 years ago. 😘.”
Hollingsworth and Myers share three kids
Hollingsworth and Myers have three children together.
Their oldest child, son Hemingway Nash, was born on July 3, 2016. The Joe Pickett cast member caught his son during his birth — after the doctor made the initial suggestion and helped him out.
“I put on the gloves, and I was the first human my baby felt touch him. And I lifted him up and I had the Simba moment.” he told Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family, adding that it was “the best thing ever."
They welcomed their middle child, son Gatsby Willem, on March 16, 2018, and their youngest, daughter Juniper Bloom, on Oct. 15, 2020.
“Not a day goes by that I don’t feel grateful for the family I have,” the Cold Pursuit star wrote in part on Instagram in the caption of Juniper's birth announcement. “Like many new Dads I spent the days leading up to the birth running around trying to gain some sort of control of a uncontrollable situation.”
Hollingsworth said he "always looked at other families with three plus kids and thought 'man those people are crazy, who does that?’ " He then playfully referenced James Van Der Beek, who has six kids with his wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, and if Myers has it her way, their family may one day catch up to the Dawson’s Creek alum’s brood.
“Maybe I can convince @hollingsworthb to let me have 1 more 😜,” she captioned an Instagram snap of herself with newborn “Juni.”
She lives in Canada
Hollingsworth told Southwest Magazine although he and Myers started their family in L.A., where he lived for a decade and filmed the CBS medical drama Code Black, he’s grateful that Virgin River brought him back to his native Canada.
“Acting is a huge part of my life but my family is an even bigger one, and the most important role I play is being a dad,” he said in 2022. “So to be able to bring everyone back here and hopefully provide them with even a fraction of the childhood I had growing up, that really is life changing."
She was a model and designer
In 2011, Myers and her sister, Misha, launched a lingerie and loungewear company called Fair Verona, inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
The company’s origin story differs, but the sisters are at the core regardless. According to The Santa Barbara Independent, Misha came up with the idea while working as a bartender, and Myers joined her in California after finishing her master’s degree in forensic criminology to pursue the venture.
Meanwhile, California Apparel News reported they came up with the idea while modeling at a lingerie trade show and not loving the brands there. The company earned press in the early aughts but no longer appears to be in business.
Hollingsworth and Myers enjoy supporting each other
Hollingsworth and Myers’ social media feeds are filled with photos of the pair and their kids. Apart from their day-to-day activities, the couple also celebrate each other on momentous occasions, like anniversaries, birthdays, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas.
In honor of his wife’s birthday in 2021, Hollingsworth wrote on Instagram, in part, “You bring the world your light and I’m blessed to be able to navigate this phenomenal journey with you. God went and completely outdid himself on you. 😘.”
They’ve been swooning over each other publicly for years. While still a newlywed in 2013, Myers shared a photo of herself in a “Mrs. Hollingsworth” shirt with the caption, “Life as Mrs.Hollingsworth. Who knew there was such a thing as Valentine's week?!"
Later that same year, the actor welcomed his wife back to Canada by picking her up at the airport with a sign that said “wife” and a bouquet, then had wine, music and his homemade pasta sauce waiting for her at home.
She is an avid skier
When she first met Hollingsworth, Myers was working as a model and Bar Method instructor teaching barre classes.
Today, fitness is still an important part of her life, with social media photos showing the couple's athletic adventures. This includes their ski trips to Squamish, Vancouver, which is both a filming location for Virgin River and a Hollingsworth family favorite for outdoor adventures.
"New Year’s Resolution 2023: More day dates with my husband,” the mom of three captioned the pair’s snowy selfie from the slopes.
Hollingsworth’s Instagram page also features photos of the family’s winter wonderland outings, including a March 2023 trip to Whistler Blackcomb in Canada. He shared a carousel of photos of himself, Myers and their sons. “Family ski days are the best ski days," he wrote.
Myers is all about the wintertime, writing on Instagram back in 2012, “Coffee & Snow; 2 of my favorite things.”
She’s no red-carpet novice
Though Hollingsworth and Myers aren’t constantly walking down red carpets, they’ve attended several events together.
Some of their earliest soirees were the Face Forward's 6th Annual Charity Gala in Los Angeles and the CTV Upfront Presentations in Toronto, both in 2015. They have since dazzled at events like the 2016 Golden Maple Awards, the 2017 Deadline Hollywood Emmy Season Kickoff Party and the 2017 Los Angeles premiere of xXx: Return Of Xander Cage.
They also took their son Hemingway to the 6th Annual Celebrity Red CARpet Safety Awareness Event in 2016 and returned the following year with Hemingway and Gatsby.
“Luckiest guy with this entourage," Hollingsworth shared on Instagram after the event.
She is a vegetarian
Myers’s Instagram bio reads, “Plant based for all the reasons.”
She shares many recipes on the platform, and most of her account highlights are dedicated to her vegetarian lifestyle.
Myers has also shared her husband’s creations, deeming his quinoa confections masterpieces and “#vegetarianheaven.”
